Book now for Ignite, a six-week creative writing course for women and non-binary writers, live online!
You’ll learn how to push through doubt, reduce fear of the blank page, become disciplined in your practice and enjoy writing so much more. You’ll become skilled in characterisation, dialogue, creating dynamic settings and other essential writing techniques.
Whether you want to write short stories, novels, essays or plays, Ignite is for you! Whether you’ve written before or are an absolute beginner, you are very welcome.
With Ignite, you aren’t expected to write for big chunks of time or to share work. You’ll develop your skills and confidence in a small supportive group, joining us via Google Meet for live two-hour workshops each week.
If you haven’t written creatively before but always wanted to, or if you haven’t written for some time and want to kick-start your practice, then this low-cost, intensive course is for you.
Hundreds of women and non-binary writers have graduated from Write like a Grrrl and For Books’ Sake’s Ignite courses! Come and join us!

What Students Say...
“Kerry Ryan’s Write Like a Grrrl workshops were perfectly pitched, informative, inclusive, and empowering. Kerry creates a non-threatening space to explore our ideas and produce valuable work in class. Her teaching style is informal and supportive – exactly what we need.”
“I really enjoyed Kerry’s writing workshops. She created a conducive atmosphere for writing, making it friendly and collaborative. It was also a good mixture of practical exercises and useful advice. I would definitely attend a course run by Kerry again.”
“The course was fantastic. Without Kerry’s great lesson on ‘How to start writing and keep going’ I would not be writing at all, but I have now managed to do so regularly for the last year.”
“Kerry was an incredible tutor! She was supportive, encouraging and fun. I loved the fact that everything was up for discussion and she never talked down to us. She created a really friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The course was also so well structured, really easy to follow and never felt daunting or difficult. She was just brilliant!”
