Write Like a Grrrl Online

In these strange times, we’re bringing our students together online so they can  support, encourage and motivate each other.

Book now for Ignite, a six-week creative writing course for women and non-binary writers, taking place entirely online.

After transferring our existing sell-out series of workshops entirely online with fantastic feedback, we’re now bringing you an online Ignite course with our partner, Write like a Grrrl, so that you can get the benefits of these brilliant courses no matter where you are in the world.

With Ignite, you’re not expected write for big chunks of time or to share work. Instead, you’ll learn together for six weeks in small groups, joining us via Zoom for our live two-hour workshops with Write like a Grrrl founder Kerry Ryan.

No pressure, lots of support and lots of much-needed laughs.

Through Ignite, you’ll learn how to push through doubt, reduce fear of the blank page, become disciplined in your practice and enjoy writing so much more. You’ll also become skilled in characterisation, dialogue, creating dynamic settings and other essential writing techniques.

If you haven’t written creatively before but always wanted to, or if you haven’t written for some time and want to kick-start your practice, then this low-cost, intensive course is for you.

What Students Say...

☆ “Kerry Ryan’s Write Like a Grrrl workshops were perfectly pitched, informative, inclusive, and empowering. Kerry creates a non-threatening space to explore our ideas and produce valuable work in class. Her teaching style is informal and supportive – exactly what we need as adult students. “ Angela

I really enjoyed Kerry’s writing workshops, mainly because she created a conducive atmosphere for writing, making it friendly and collaborative.  It was also a good mixture of practical exercises and useful advice. I would definitely attend a course run by Kerry again.” Erica

☆ “The course was fantastic. Without Kerry’s great lesson on ‘How to start writing and keep going’ I would not be writing at all, but I have now managed to do so regularly for the last year.”  Liz

☆ “Kerry was an incredible tutor! She was supportive, encouraging and fun. I loved the fact that everything was up for discussion and she never talked down to us. She created a really friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
The course was also so well structured, really easy to follow and never felt daunting or difficult. She was just brilliant!”
