Bloody Scotland

Scotland's International Crime-Writing Festival

The programme for Bloody Scotland, Scotland’s international crime writing festival, was announced last week, and readers who like their books stuffed full of intrigue and illegality won’t be disappointed. Its line-up boasts some of the world’s most talented women writers of murder mysteries, psychological thrillers and tartan noir. Currently in its 4th year, the event will take place from 11 to 13 September in Stirling. You can buy tickets here. To whet your appetite (or knife…) Dawn Kofie takes a look at some of the fantastic writers who will be appearing at this year’s festival.

Denise Mina

Mina talks to Nigel Beale about her Phd, how mental ill health is portrayed in conventional crime fiction and some of the technical aspects of writing.
