They’ve collaborated with forty authors on a brand new collection; Virago is 40. The only rule; that each piece of writing had to somehow reference the number forty. Beyond that, all bets are off.
The final anthology features a range of subject matters, styles and forms, including stories, poems, autobiography and essays. It’s introduced by none other than For Books’ Sake favourite Margaret Atwood, and features contributions from amazing Virago authors including the likes of Sarah Waters, Maya Angelou, Stella Duffy, Naomi Wolf and Tracey Thorn.
Virago have been responsible for the resdiscovery of numerous women writers who may otherwise have lapsed into obscurity, as well as championing established and emerging authors of every stripe.Best of all?
