Exclusive! The Pink Hotel by Anna Stothard to be Adapted Into Film

Anna Paquin, perhaps better known as Sookie Stookhouse from True Blood, and partner, Stephen Moyer (who plays Sookie’s vampire ex, Bill Compton) have created their own film production company, CASM Films.

And their first project is several kinds of exciting: they’ll be producing an adaptation of Anna Stothard’s Orange Prize-longlisted book, The Pink Hotel (read our review here).

The narrative traces a seventeen-year old London girl who flies to Los Angeles for the funeral of Lilly, a mother she’d barely known. Whilst there, she uncovers a suitcase full of photographs, letters and clothes in the attic of the eponymous hotel and, led by these clues, sets out to unravel her mothers’ secrets.

Stothard is hoping that, as locals, Paquin and Moyer film on location at the real pink hotel (also known as The Cadillac) in Venice Beach.  Either way, we can’t way to see the film…
