Tattoo Tuesday: Millie Dollar’s Hunter S. Thompson Tattoo

Our latest Tattoo Tuesday comes courtesy of burlesque superstar Millie Dollar (seriously, she’s amazing, and last week she was interviewed by none other than Alan Cumming. If that’s not a claim to fame, we don’t know what is).
Millie has lots of gorgeous tattoos, including this Hunter S.Thompson tattoo, done at Sacred Fortune in Liverpool. The author of contemporary classics including Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is one of Millie’s favourite writers, and one she aspires to (although without the drugs, she hastens to add!).
Would you ever get a tattoo portrait of your favourite author? Who would it be, and why? Or have you already got a literary tattoo you’d love to see featured on For Books’ Sake? Email us with a photo telling us when, where and why you had it done, and you could be our next Tattoo Tuesday! We’re waiting…

Thompson has influenced the past few generations with his invention of Gonzo Journalism. The Good Doctor broke the mold on writing and changed the world and the voice of counter-culture. His work and antics will live on to influence even more generations to come. I paid tribute to Hunter S Thompson and his work with my portrait and article on my artist’s blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/02/in-memoriam-hunter-s-thompson.html
