Tattoo Tuesday: Jessa’s Oscar Wilde Tattoo

Our latest Tattoo Tuesday is a quote from Oscar Wilde. Jessa Moulin, a tattoo artist living and working in Paris, gave herself this tattoo on her foot.
It’s a quote from Oscar Wilde’s only novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray: “Behind every exquisite thing that existed, there was something tragic.”
Published in 1890, the gothic tale questions beauty, youth, ageing and art, when the title character sells his soul to remain forever young and beautiful, while a portrait of him ages and shows his sins instead.
