Freebie Thursday: Games Perverts Play

obscenity_bruce_la_bruce_exhibition DIRT is the fourth edition of Games Perverts Play, an anthology of new writing edited by Quiet Riot Girl (last seen on For Books’ Sake telling us her three favourite back room girls).

Tagged as ‘stories from the sidelines of pornography’, Games Perverts Play sets out to blur the boundaries between erotica, porn, fiction and essays, with the ‘perversion’ just as much about the form as the content of the writing.

In this case the main essay is by Richard Dyer, whose book White delves into our perception of what dirt and cleanliness mean.

DIRT also includes new, daring and original prose and poetry, from the inimitable Penny Goring and Marc Nash.

Meanwhile Sarah-Clare Conlon, Magda Sullivan and Betty Herbert provide the ‘stories’. Sometimes chilling, sometimes romantic, sometimes hot.

Other contributors include the amazing Dan Holloway (a favourite of both For Books’ Sake and Quiet Riot Girl) and Mark Simpson, a source of support and encouragement for many writers, including QRG (reminding her that it’s not just women who make brilliant back room girls).

DIRT can be downloaded for free here, with previous editions of the anthology available for free from Smashwords: Paraphilia, Objectified, and Power.

Think your writing is perverse and exciting? Get in touch with Quiet Riot Girl for submissions details.
