Freebie Thursdays: The Sweetest Empire by Sally Patricia Gardner
This week’s Freebie Thursday is by Sally Patricia Gardner, author of Lillian’s Story, The Sweetest Empire and Painting By Numbers.
Her latest novel, Painting By Numbers, was published last month, and for a limited time only all three of her books are available for free.
And we’re especially liking the look of The Sweetest Empire, a novel dedicated to “successive generations of women who refused to know their place.”
Spanning almost a century from 1868 to 1966, it features six stories of women battling against the restrictions of their times, cultures and societies, from Victorian mental hospitals to Hollywood via two world wars and the suffragettes.
