Tattoo Tuesday: Kelli’s e.e.cummings Tattoo

e_e_cummings_tattoo

Our Tattoo Tuesdays series continues with Kelli Savill‘s tattoo of an e.e. cummings quote. It was done just over a year ago at Self Sacrifice Tattoo in London (sadly, it’s closed down since then).

Kelli says:

“I got this piece of work because e.e. cummings has always had a special place in my heart. When I couldn’t think of a polite enough way to say ‘fuck the haters’…he did. And here it is.”

If you were going to have a quote from your favourite author inked on you, who would it be and which quote would you choose? Or have you got a literary tattoo? Tell us in the comments or send us a photo and you could be featured on For Books’ Sake.

This is a great quote! I’ve long wanted a tattoo of a quote, but haven’t yet decided on one that’s important enough to me. The one I’ve considered longest is similar to this, though: Shakespeare’s ‘This above all: to thine own self be true’. Think I prefer the e.e. cummings one now!
