Tattoo Tuesday: Libby’s Alice in Wonderland Tattoo

Remember late last year, when we told you we wanted to see your snaps of your literary tattoos? You sent us snaps of all sorts of incredible ink, and we’ve loved looking through them all. And each week we’ll be showing them to you in our weekly Tattoo Tuesdays series.
It all starts today with the woman behind children’s literature blog Treasury Islands, Libby Baxter-Williams (also known as @MsBathtub). Libby’s tattoo is of a John Tenniel illustration from the first edition of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland in 1865.
In the book, the illustration is accompanied by the words “You’re nothing but a pack of cards!” Libby explains:
“It’s the moment when reality starts to permeate Wonderland without which Alice would never be able to go home. As someone who finds keeping a two-handed grip on reality something of a chore, this is a a nice reminder to, well, try to do just that.”
It was done by Davina at Penetrated Ace in Hyde, Manchester, and we reckon it’s the perfect place to start our brand new weekly series. What do you think?
Have you got a literary tattoo? Tell us in the comments or send us a photo and you could be featured on For Books’ Sake.
