Michelle Tea & Sister Spit Start Publishing Imprint

Sister_Spit_2012

January’s usually dark and dismal, but we’re in much sunnier moods since finding out this latest news from touring literary roadshow Sister Spit.

Spearheaded and hosted by Valencia author Michelle Tea, the queer radical company of writers, poets and performance artists has developed a cult following since it was first founded in 1997, touring all over the world with authors and artists including  Ali Liebegott, Lynn Breedlove and Annie Danger.

And they’re teaming up with the publishing arm of fellow San Francisco literary legends, City Lights, on a joint imprint. Apparently the first three books will be a Sister Spit anthology, a new title by Ali Leibegott and a reissue of her out-of-print poetry collection The Beautifully Worthless.

Sister Spit is touring America in April, and a European tour is planned for later in the year. We already can’t wait.
