For Books’ Sake Presents: Books & Blues at CAF

We’ll be kicking off the For Books’ Sake festival season at Chorlton Arts Festival with an evening of Books and Blues at Chorlton Irish Club!

On Friday 20th May, join us in a celebration of the famous and forgotten female Blues voices throughout the ages. With storytelling, spoken word and musical treats:

Words from poet, theatre writer and performer Claire Robertson, performance artist Carrianne Vivianette and our own Deputy Ed. Alex Herod.

Sounds from Denise Morgan, Alexis McLean and  Leo Cookman & Paul Fleishman who will be taking an evening off from their usual musical pursuits to bring us some mighty fine blues.

Raffle prizes up for grabs on the night include a blues guitar lesson with Dom Veron, a meal for two with wine at the Nip and Tipple, a 30 day martial arts/self defence trial and uniform at Chorlton Black Belt Academy, a beautiful mosaic kit from Tracey Cartledge and tickets to a Chorlton Film Institute screeningplus more goodies from the great and good of Chorlton local businesses!

There will also be a book swap and surprises on the night, and what’s more it doesn’t cost you a penny to get in!
