Contrariwise: Literary Tattoos

Suppose_We_Have_Only_Dreamed_Literary_Tattoo

I am a total sucker for text-based tattoos. Give me a literary quote inked onto skin in a fancy font, and chances are I’ll be a happy bunny. Luckily, the Contrariwise: Literary Tattoos website can always be counted on to induce many a case of tattoo envy.

Readers submit their tattoos of literary quotes, poetry or lyrics, and features include themed weeks celebrating children’s classics such as Alice in Wonderland and Where the Wild Things Are.

You can sort the images by subject matter, so there’s categories such as essays, plays, or even graphic novels, or you search for authors from J.M. Barrie to Jack Kerouac via J.K. Rowling and Jeanette Winterson.

Want more typography-based tattoos? Have a nosey at our feature on the controversial SKIN Project by Shelley Jackson.

Have one yourself? We want to know about it! Tell us in the comments or email us with photos.
