Wears the Trousers / Ladyfest Ten Zine

Remember back in August, when we told you about Wears the Trousers‘ one-off  collaborative zine to celebrate women in music and Ladyfest Ten?

At the time, they were after your submissions about the musical heroines that meant the most to you. With a lot of patience, photocopying, pritt-stick and staples, they’ve compiled the best of the bunch into an illustrated collection available now.

There are four different editions, featuring cover illustrations by John Lee Bird from his series Before Encore 3 (including Jessica Grace and Robots in Disguise‘s Sue Denim among others). The bands and musicians gushed over inside these gorgeous covers include everyone from Edith Piaf to Patti Smith and PJ Harvey via Kenickie, Courtney Love and Lil’ Kim.

Contributors include Michelle Tea, Deborah Withers, Em Ledger, The Girls Are‘s Annette Barlow, Wears The Trousers‘ Charlotte Richardson Andrews and none other than yours truly.
