Call for Submissions: Girls Who Fight
Already finished scribbling your submission to Read Dirty to Me? Suffering NaNoWriMo withdrawal symptoms after overdosing on Red Bull, sweets and sleepless nights for an entire month? If you need another project to get your teeth into, try this one on for size:
Following the success of Girls Who Fight issues 1 and 2, Monster Emporium Press are now preparing for GWF3 and they want you!
Started following a zine workshop by Plan B magazine‘s Frances May Morgan and Everett True, Girls Who Fight issues 1 and 2 are on sale in bookshops across London, online and at most zine/self publishing fairs in London and Brighton.
Now they need your contributions. They want: fiction, non-fiction, illustration, poetry, recipes, photographs, jokes, games, polemics – you name it as long as it’s of a high quality.
So far they’ve featured Nina Power, Mimi Leung and Katherine Hardy. Although they’re not looking explicitly for feminist content, if you are that way inclined they’ve assured us that they of course wouldn’t turn it away!
Email in submissions of up to 1,500 words and/or six images by 1st March 2011, or have a nosey on the Monster Emporium Press blog for more info.
