La Belle Juliette Literary Hotel in Paris
Be still, my beating heart! As if I needed another reason to swoon and sigh over my Simone de Beauvoir biographies while plotting my next Parisian adventure.
The gorgeous and historical Saint-Germain-des-Prés district may have stolen my heart many moons ago, but the news that it’s getting a brand new literary-themed hotel in the shape of La Belle Juliette just sealed the deal even further.
Due to open its doors for the first time on New Year’s Eve, the hotel takes its name and inspiration from Juliette Récamier, a leader of 19th century literary circles in Paris, where her salon was frequented by the rich and the famous.
Kitted out by haute couture designer Anne Gelbard, each of La Belle Juliette‘s 34 rooms is intended to evoke a fragment from the original Juliette’s life, such as her close friendship with Madame de Staël, love affairs and other adventures.
If that weren’t enough to intrigue you, the hotel also includes Le Talma bar and restaurant, which will feature antique books fr you to browse through, the same warm welcome that made Juliette’s literary salons so renowned, and an Italian menu based on her stays in Naples and Rome.
With prices from €300 per night, it isn’t the cheapest of choices, but after drooling all over my keyboard while perusing the website, something tells me it might be worth splashing out on. Who wants to take me away for weekend?
