For Books' Sake Presents: The Lit at Ladyfest Ten Fundraiser Pulp Fiction Covers

It’s taken us until now to recover from the wondrousness that was our Ladyfest Ten fundraiser on Thursday. Hundreds of pounds worth of prizes, several slices of chocolate cake and a lot of gin later, and we can finally show you some of the photo evidence.

If you managed to make it on Thursday, a million times thank-you for coming. We were completely overwhelmed by how supportive everyone was, and we raised much more for Ladyfest Ten than we ever dared hope. We couldn’t have done it without you, so thank you again for being there. Hope you had fun! And if, like some of the attendees who’d emailed us before we even got home afterwards, you’ve been obsessing ever since about which questions you got right or wrong, then please email us and we’ll send you the full list of correct answers.

And now, the obligatory long list of thanks to the people who made Thursday happen:

For generously donating prizes aplenty, please show some love to Pulp Press, Mslexia, Serpent’s Tail, The Faber Academy, London Review of Books, The Literary Gift Company, Filament Magazine, Keris Stainton, Zecca Living, Virago, Birlinn Books and Alcemi. And especially to The Old School Yard for hosting us!

And for helping promote the evening, lots of love and gratitude also goes to The Girls Are, Storm in a Teacup, UK Feminista, The F Word, Qype Does London, Run Riot and, of course, all our beautiful Twitter followers and Facebook friends. You’re the best.

Since Thursday, there have been several people who’ve asked when the next event is. If you’re in the North, we’re having a Manchester edition of the Lit at Ladyfest Ten quiz on Friday 10th September. There’ll be more details on the site soon, but in the meantime, the Facebook event is here.

For Londoners, we were so flabbergasted by how supportive everyone was on Thursday that even though we’d only planned for the event to be a one-off fundraiser, we’re now tempted indeed to make it a regular occurrence. If that’s something you’d be interested in, then please let us know in the comments, and make sure you’re following us on Twitter and Facebook so that we can keep you up to date as and when the next event is confirmed.

In the meantime, thanks again for being the cleverest, loveliest, best-looking pub quiz players we could possibly have wished for. We love you all!
