Ladybird Collection Cinderella Purse
Remember the hardback Ladybird books you had when you were younger? Featuring illustrated fairytales and other children’s classics, these were the literary equivalent of crystal meth when I was a whippersnapper. In fact, so beloved were those books that I refused to be parted for them for far more years than was probably proper.
And, although this brattish obstinacy to let them be passed on to younger siblings (even though I’d already moved on to – I though - far more sophisticated reading material, like Nancy Drew or the adventures of the Famous Five) was a source of many a stubborn squabble when I was younger, my Mum must now be secretly pleased by my firm position on the matter. To this day, she has entire bundles of slim Ladybird hardbacks snaffled away, convinced that one day “they’ll be worth a fortune.” (Whether I’ll allow them to leave my clutches when that day comes is another matter.)
Given this former obsession with the Ladybird books, it was obvious as soon as I laid eyes on this Cinderella purse printed with the original illustrated cover that I had to share it with the world. And it’s only £4.95, from Truffle Shuffle. So you’ll get a daily dose of fairytale nostalgia for less than a fiver. Bargain.

The Ladybird Books were my treasure when I was little and I bitterly regret giving them away/losing them. We moved around a lot when we were young so it was inevitable. I really miss my Cinderalla book, the illustrations were divine. But I still have others at my parents such as Lives of the Great Artists and Great Composers.
