Westminster Walking Tour of Literary London
Westminster Walking is a series of guided walking tours around London, led by a lovely lady named Joanna. Whatever your obsession, whether it’s historic boozing establishments, gentleman’s clubs which were once coffee and chocolate houses, or 200-year-old cheese shops, she’s got a walk which will educate and intrigue you.
And next Tuesday, 25th May, she’ll be leading a Literary Tour of Mayfair. Taking place from 6.30pm until 8pm, the tour will start from near Piccadilly Circus and meander through Mayfair, the setting of numerous novels and plays including Oscar Wilde‘s Picture of Dorian Gray, The School for Scandal by Richard Sheridan, and Evelyn Waugh‘s A Handful of Dust.
Joanna will also be letting walkers in on the secrets of where some of those writers lived, married and honeymooned, as well as hidden gems for London lit-lovers, including the oldest bookshop in London and the birthplace of the paperback. Tickets are £7 per person, and you’ll need to email Joanna to bag yourself a space.
